Kazuo Ito — known to the squad simply as “Briggs” — is the man who keeps the Devil’s Raiders breathing, firing, and moving forward. Born into the industrial sprawl of the Tokara Complex, Kazuo was raised between heat exchangers and machine shops, apprenticing in weapons maintenance before he could legally carry one.

No one’s sure who started calling him Briggs — it might’ve been a mispronunciation, a joke, or something from his old corp days — but it stuck. So did his reputation for making miracles out of scrap.

He speaks rarely, works constantly, and sees every armor plate and weapon mod as a reflection of the person who carries it. His tattoos — faded kanji scrawled down one arm — are personal, earned, and never explained. You don’t ask about Briggs’s past. You just hand him your gear and thank him when it doesn’t jam.

In the Raider hangar, he’s a fixture — surrounded by sparks, half-finished mods, and the quiet hum of things getting done right. If something breaks in the field, he’ll have a solution waiting before you’ve even radioed back. If someone dies… he’ll be the one who fixes what they left behind.

He tolerates chaos, despises shortcuts, and has a soft spot for Lena he pretends doesn’t exist. She reminds him of someone — or maybe everyone — he couldn’t save.
